Knee pain and injury

Assessment for knee pain, ligament injury, meniscus problems, arthritis, and movement limitation

Knee pain may come from cartilage, ligament, tendon, meniscus, alignment, or arthritis-related causes. A careful history, examination, and imaging review help identify the source and guide treatment.

When it may be considered

  • Pain after sports or twisting injury
  • Swelling, locking, instability, or reduced movement
  • Persistent pain affecting walking, stairs, work, or exercise

Visit notes

  • Bring prior X-rays, MRI reports, or operation notes if available
  • Treatment may include physiotherapy, medication, injections, bracing, or surgery depending on the diagnosis
  • Recovery plans should match the patient's activity goals and medical situation
